GALILEE

Some Highlights from the

NAZARETH

Passing through the marketplace to the ancient synagogue in Nazareth will be a walk you long remember. When Jesus was growing up here, it was only a small village. Today it's a thriving town that has not forgotten its special history.

"The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, “Follow me.”  Philip found Nathanael and told him, 'We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.'

'Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?' Nathanael asked.

'Come and see,' said Philip."

John 1:43,45-46

CAPERNAUM

Capernaum is one of the most important sites in all of Israel for Christians. Known as "Jesus' own town" in Matt. 9:1, it truly is a memorable experience to walk where Jesus walked! You will be able to stand in the very same synagogue where He taught and healed a man possessed by an evil spirit....

"They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach. Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an impure spirit cried out, 'What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!'

SEA OF

GALILEE

Early in the morning (when the water is calm) you will take sail on the sea.  Here your guide will point out many important sights and you will learn, first hand, the fishing techniques that were probably used by Peter, Andrew, James, and John when Christ called them to follow him. What a great experience!

"As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 'Come, follow me,' Jesus said, 'and I will send you out to fish for people.' At once they left their nets and followed him.
