I’m thrilled to invite you to join Deborah and me on an adventure of a lifetime! When I first visited Israel, almost 20 years ago, my understanding of the Bible exploded. It was like watching a 13-inch, black-and-white TV all my life and then being given a 60-inch LED HD Monitor. Names and places came alive to me like never before; I made connections between generations and epochs of biblical history that I never would have done by studying a map.  One morning as I walked alone at sunrise on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, I wept realizing that the topography would have looked and felt very much the same as when Jesus took the very same walk. 

 

After that trip, I knew I had to go back to Israel, and bring as many people with me as possible.  There is something profound about hearing, smelling, touching, and seeing the very ground where Jesus walked, and putting the biblical pieces together — as the land of Jesus is also the land of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, and other important people of faith. When you go to Israel you realize like never before… 

 

The story of Israel is the context for the story God is writing in human history.

 

We will stay where Jesus lived, and sail the waters He walked on.  In Jerusalem you will see the ruins of the Temple where Jesus moved daily and stand where He agonized in the Garden before the betrayal. You’ll walk into a tomb like the one that could not hold Him, have an opportunity to be baptized in the Jordan River, float in the Dead Sea, and gaze in amazement at the Valley of Armageddon where human history will someday come to its climax. 

 

Bible stories will come alive, and you'll never be able to read the Bible the same way again!
