ATHENS

Few sites are more impressive than the Greek Parthenon atop the stunning Acropolis of ancient (and modern) Athens. In its shadow is lowly Mars Hill where Paul stood amid a pagan and depraved society and proclaimed the good news of Jesus Christ. You will stand there, too, and relive that thrilling moment when Paul reasoned about faith and many believed.  You can also look forward to some extra hours in the evening to wander the fabulous Greek marketplace known as the Plaka. There is much to explore!

“Then Paul stood up and said, ‘People of Athens! I see that you are very religious in every way. As I walked around, I looked carefully at the things you worship. I even found an altar with these words written on it: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.

Now I am going to tell you about this ‘unknown god’ that you worship.”
Acts 17:22, 23

CORINTH

When Paul left Athens, he headed for Corinth. So will you! You will stand in the city that was Paul’s home for two years. While tent-making in this city, Paul met Priscilla and Aquila who later became two very important traveling companions on his journeys. Many vital lessons for Christian living come out of the letters he addressed to the believers in Corinth. We will study his words together and realize again how relevant they are for us still today.

“They were tentmakers, just as he was. So he stayed and worked with them. Every Sabbath he went to the synagogue. He was trying to get both Jews and Greeks to believe in the Lord.”
Acts 18:3, 4

“During the night Paul had a vision. He saw a man from Macedonia standing and begging him. ‘Come over to Macedonia!’ the man said. ‘Help us!’ After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia. We decided that God had called us to preach the good news there."

Acts 16:9, 10
